You’re Allowed to Evolve
You don’t owe the world who you used to be.
Hi Friends,
There’s a version of me I’ve gently outgrown, the one who chased results, performed for approval, and measured success by how much she could handle.
That version built a lot and I'm grateful. But I’m no longer in that season.
These days, my ambition is rooted in devotion, not demand. My pace is slower. My choices more intentional. And I bet I’m not the only one in this type of shift.
So let’s talk about what it means to evolve, honestly, courageously, and on purpose.
This week’s Lesson: Owning Your Evolution Is the Real Flex
Evolution doesn’t always look like giant leaps.
Sometimes it’s more subtle: shifting priorities, earlier mornings, firmer boundaries.
Sometimes it’s intangible: feeling the friction of who you were, without yet seeing who you’re becoming.
The truth is, we all carry versions of ourselves that once made sense, until they didn’t.
The overachiever.
The people-pleaser.
The polished performer.
The one who stayed busy to feel worthy.
The one who stayed silent to keep peace.
You might still be holding onto parts of who you were, not because they serve you now, but because they once did. And letting go of something that used to work can feel like grief, even when it’s growth.
This isn’t about reinvention for show. It’s about alignment. Integrity. Inner clarity.
A few questions for your journey:
What have you outgrown, even if it once defined you?
Where do you feel resistance, not because you’re behind, but because you’re evolving?
What would devotion to who you’re becoming look like right now?
No need to rush the answers. Just honour the asking.
From My Bookshelf
I’m revisiting The Pivot Year by Brianna Wiest.
These lines are sitting with me:
“You will feel like you are behind only when you are no longer moving at someone else's pace.”
“You are not the culmination of what you once were. You can defy the past. You can become what you decide to be.”
“You are meant to grow as new evidence and experience are presented to you. (...) You are not meant to remain one static character within your life.”
Some books don’t just speak to you, they meet you. This one found me (again) at the perfect time. If you're reading this, I hope the timing is serendipitous.
Three Bold Truths to Carry Forward:
You don’t outgrow your past. You integrate it.
You’re not rejecting who you were. You’re building on it, and it's deeply personal.
Devotion is the real disruptor.
Discipline pushes. Devotion pulls. Let your care, not urgency or despair, shape your direction.
Sustainable ambition creates staying power.
Pace yourself. Alignment is the new acceleration.
Final World
This season might feel quieter. Slower. Maybe even unfamiliar.
But if your days are anchored in presence, and your growth reflects your purpose, trust this:
You’re not behind. You’re becoming. You’re building with devotion, not dependency.
